As part of our outreach activities in the parish, representatives from St Andrew’s Church have been paying a monthly visit to conduct services at Milton Grange Nursing Home since October 2016. Milton Grange is a nursing home for elderly patients with dementia in the parish. This is in addition to Holy Communion services conducted by our vicar for the residents and staff which also take place monthly but not on the same day.

The services are held on the third Sunday of each month and are led by volunteers from the church. The services last for about half an hour, and consist of songs and hymns, a bible reading, a short address, and prayers. Both the residents and staff seem to like the services and look forward to them.  Several of them join in the singing; at our last visit in June, one blind resident sang all the three songs from memory! Afterwards, the volunteers spend time chatting with the residents about any matters they care to discuss.
